We worked together to come up with a range of activites and in particular practiced numbers, colours and shapes. They were some tiring mornings, but we were left with a sense of appreciation for the work the women do.

Although also known as the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead), the day is a colourful celebration and reaffirmation of life where we remember those who have gone before us. The nursery was transformed into a hubbub of excitement as the staff and volunteers adorned a table with bread babies called t’antawawas, fruit, sugarcane, candy and multicoloured pasankalla (roasted corn). All the kids then sat down to pray and each one left the nursery that day grinning from ear to ear with the goodie bags they received!
